Your Question
I am a 40 yr old male who was hit by a car while riding my bike. I was unconcious for 15-20 minutes and had profuse clear fluid coming out of my nose. I was taken to the hospital and the Dr said I had a moderate concussion (TBI). He had me observed in the hospital for 24 hours and advised me not to engage in contact sports for at least 30 days. I did get a very general neuro exam in which I only complained of a headache and aches and pains.
Five days later I drank alcohol and it resulted in extraordidary adverse behavior and a loss of memory for several hours. Could this be in part because of the TBI? What other damage could have occured to me? Shoul I have been advised not to drink for at least until I was seen by the Dr again or even longer?
I am not trying to build a court case. I was in the Middle East while in the military and a local public hospital treated me. I just want to know exactly what caused of my abnormal behavior.
Thanks, Brian
