Your Question
my father is 63 years old and has only one kidney. he donated a kidney 30 some years ago to his younger brother when both his failed due to accute nephritis after having strep throat. recenly my father was having some blood work done to check his cholesteral and it showed that he had a high level of creatinine and urea. i know these levels increase to some degree with age, but having just one kidney does this normal range still apply to him? also... he is taking statins to lower his cholesteral and he often complains of muscle aches and pains and weakness. he has also had trouble urinating for some time now but his doctor said it wasnt due to a kidney problem. also.. one year ago he had a seizure that was due to dehidration. could this be realted in some way?
