Your Question
I have been diagnosed with a specific polysaccharide antibody deficiency (pneumococcal serotypes) and self-administer weekly Viva Globin infusions to provide antibodies for URIs. I get recurrent respiratory infections, specifically pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus congestions/infections. I have been given amoxicillin clauvenate (875 mg bid)to treat this. Ultimately, I end up with oral thrush due to the antibiotics. Its a vicious circle. Are there any other effective treatments for my antibody deficiency? Are there other anibiotics that clear up the URIs better than the amoxicillin? Also, how long can thrush (moniliasis) live on objects outside the body. I clean things with rubbing alcohol that have been in contact with my mouth. Does this work well? I know this is alot of information, but I will appreciate answers so I can search other avenues for my illnesses.
