Your Question
Two and half weeks ago I woke up with a shooting pain in my right shoulder. It was about a seven on the pain scale. It was getting worse and worse. It got to the point of when it flared up I could not use the arm at all. I went to my doctor and had very limited mobility in my arm. He told me it could be a bruise, strain or tear, that I was very tender in that area when he tested it himself for movement. He put me on anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and pain meds for severe pain. They have not worked at all in the doses he gave me. I upped them and still the pain is not going away. I have hydrocodone from when I had a tooth removed and took two them. The drug had no effect and seems to have made the pain worse. I am unable to sleep at night from the pain being so bad(a 10 on the pain scale). I do not recall hurting my shoulder in any way, so I do not know what is or could be causing this. I do have severe carpal tunnel in my right hand, could this be the cause and do I need surgery to relieve this?
