I\'ve noticed a lot of heartburn beginning at age 14. Heartburn is severe, daily and only subdued with massive amounts of antacid tablets, or with Omeprazole, which works well. I have an over average amount of white bacteria substance on my tongue at almost all times. When I was about 14-15 yrs. old I underwent laproscopic surgery to correct the heartburn in response to a diagnosis of GERD. About a year later the heartburn came back. My concerns are this; could this is a sign of some sort of toxins in my blood, or colon/spleen issue? I am afraid that the long term effects omeprazole is going to be negative. I have read things saying this could be indicative of diseases like HIV, CANCER, Diabetes, and more. I do not have any family history or likelihood of having any of these. I feel otherwise healthy, 27 yr. old 210 lb. man, and do not often get sick or feel weak. Just heartburn and white tongue. How can I find the underlying cause so I can cure it and all symptoms for good?
