Your Question
I got a burn on my thigh from a hair straightener about 2 weeks ago. The burn measures 2in by 1.5in and I am not sure if it is all a second degree burn, but it is mostly healed now. I went to a doctor 3 days after it occurred when a reddish ring appeared around the burn and was spreading. He prescribed me 500mg Keflex 3xday. I only had four pills left when I was coming down with a virus of some kind, and it became nearly impossible to stomach the antibiotics anymore. So, I stopped taking them. I went back to the doctor shortly after because I had noticed that I have had a constant fever ranging from 99-99.9 degrees for the past 5 or six days, and my thigh was warm. He did a culture and gave me bactroban, which my family has a history of allergies to. I forgot to mention to the doctor that my heart beat has been unusually fast and i have shaking all over (sometimes visibly+sometimes not). The wound is dried out but there is still a faint pink around the burn that is tender and warm to the touch. Also, I have been tingling/burning all over. What should I do?
