Your Question
i fell on my left shoulder, without trying to arrest the fall. X-ray showed no break. first ER doc diagnosed shoulder sprain. after one week, pain had not decreased and ROM had not increased. A slight step-off became evident. A second ER doc diagnosed an AC joint separation. One week after that, still no decrease in pain and only a slight increase in ROM. doing codman\'s makes arm feel better, but have no external rotation or abduction. step-off is more pronounced and the lump near the posterior spine of the should blade is still present. I think it\'s a posterior dislocation. is it normal for an AC separation to have a step-off, no decrease in pain or increase in ROM after 2 weeks, and no external rotation or abduction?
