Your Question
I have had shortness of breath for about a week. I feel like when I inhale I already have air in my lungs so I can\'t fully inhale. 3 days later chest pain started. Mild ache sometimes right side, sometimes left ( more left) Pain does not radiate just a dull ache. The shortness of breath is off and on as well as the chest pain. I went to the ER 4 days ago and upon taking my vitals my pulse was high at about 160. They did an EKG which came up normal and took blood all my tests came back normal although I have not gotten my thyroid tests back yet. He gave me a referral for a cardiologist, some heart slowing meds and told me I wasn\'t going to die when I went home like I was thinking. I had an episode when I left the hospital and accidentally left my rx there but my heart beat as far as I know hasn\'t spiked since I left. I was extremly scared while in the ER and my pulse only spiked when I talked to the DR\'s so I\'m wondering if that is anxiety. I\'m not on any medications not even otc, i\'m 25 female, not overweight. I do smoke a half pack of cigarettes a day. I\'m really really scared I would appreciate any answers anyone can give me. My appt for my cardiologist isn\'t until January 6th. First available
