Had collapsed lung with \\\"rind\\\" removed 13 days ago. In ICU now without responsiveness post op 4 days. Pupils are responsive but failed Babinski. Lungs, heart, blood all GOOD. Unremittant edema, acute renal failure, liver enzymes elevated. Beginning dialysis today. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Is the reduction of edema the main thing that will help him neurologically?? The Doc said that it is, of course, the plan of action but that no one knows if he will come back. They expected to furthur ween his O2 by now, but he is still on 50%. He has underlying MSD, with all chemo stopped......still early in that diagnosis. Please help.
