Your Question
Hi, my name is Basit Khatri and i am 23 years old. I will explain my problem in every detail as i think it is necessary, so please bear with me. I have had asthma since i was a child. Chronic most of the time, was on regular medicine. The medicine at first were syrups, then when i became older like 13, started using inhalers ventolin and ventide (by glaxo smith). Was a normal kid, played sports, went to school..etc. Ever since i was on inhalers and to be exact, when started using them on my own, i developed a habit of taking 4 to 5 puffs in one go to relieve myslef of the asthma attack (meaning heavily overdosed, normal is one puff a go, if required take onther one in a second go). As i did that i got a habit of doing this. This habit continued till like last year. In highschool (six years ago) i started smoking along with friends, for fun and then developed a habit. starting with 1 or cigarattes daily to a pack, pack and half. Up till now i have never actually stopped smoking and regularly get this weird pain in my chest. I have smoked not only cigarattes but smoke the sheehsa (hubble bubble..i think) almost 3 times a week. I also smoke this arabic pipe called Midwakh in which you have to put Dokha regularly. I keep, like going back and forth from cigarattes to midwakh. I get pain in my chest regularly, just when i feel the pain i take the inhalers, then it gets releived. Recently like 2 years ago i found out that i was flat footed, as my heels started to hurt when ever i walked with anything that was flat. I have developed a joint problem, in which my joints create a popping sound (all of them you can say). It just used pop before but now they get stiff and ache. Speacially around my ankle and wrist. No one in my family has joint problems.

Thus after explaning my history in detail, the question i want to ask is.
1) Is the pain in my chest a serious concern, i have been having this for 3 years now, but the inhalers relax it down. Is it ok for it to go that way?
2) As i am an asthma patient, am i more prone to cancer or problems caused by smoking than an averge man without asthma.
3) Is there any connection with the medicine (inhalers) that i have taken, which might have caused my joint problems.
4) If i need to make sure that everything is alrite, and no serious damage is done. What medical tests should i under go or speacilists should i consult with. If an world renowned expert, facility or hospital is in someones knowlegde please do let me know.

Kind regrads,
Basit Khari
